The Nintendo 64 (N64) is introduced. Graphics are improved and Nintendo enjoys a lot of sales. The N64 turns out to be the best selling console Nintendo has created.

The Game Boy Advance is introduced in 2001. The GBA is streamlined and pocket sized and features improved graphical ability. The GameCube (GC) reaches the market. The graphics are incredible and shows how far Nintendo has come. Unfortunately, there is more competition and the console never reaches the sales of previous models.

The Nintendo DS (Dual Screen) is introduced to compete with Sony's PSP. It offers wifi online abilities, voice chat and the ability to touch the screen like a PDA. While not as popular as the Game Boy, it holds its own on the market. For the first time, there is backlighting on Nintendo's handheld systems.

The Nintendo Wii takes gaming to a new level. Appealing to non-gamers and gamers alike with its revolutionary remote-like controllers, the Wii makes gaming fun physically as well as intellectually. It encourages players to mimic movement physically that is portrayed on the screen. The DSLite is introduced, offering new improvements from the DS.The size was smaller than the DS and the power button location was changed for easier use.
